Millie Bobby Brown is skipping out on the MTV TV & Movie Awards airing later tonight. The show was recorded over the weekend, but Millie told fans on Instagram that she would not be attending the event with her “Stranger Things” co-stars since she split her kneecap. “I’ve never actually broken a bone except for now. I have split my kneecap,” Brown says in the video. “From the doctor’s orders, he told me to rest up. So I won’t be attending the MTV Awards this weekend.” She also sent her best wishes to her castmates who did attend the show.
The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards airs tonight. Normally it airs live, but this time it was held over the weekend. Tiffany Haddish did hosting duties. “Black Panther” picked up seven nominations to lead the pack, including Best Movie, Best Hero and Best Performance for Chadwick Boseman, and Best Villain for Michael B. Chris Hardwickis the latest actor to be accused of sexual impropriety. His ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra, posted a scathing online essay accusing the host of Singled Out, The Talking Dead and The Wall of sexual assault, controlling behavior, and career sabotage during their three-year relationship. While Chris vehemently denied Chloe’s claims of sexual assault, several companies – including AMC, Comic-Con, and NBC – have distanced themselves from him. After Kim Kardashian worked to help Alice Johnson get her life sentence commuted, she was asked if she’d consider running for office. While she doesn’t really see it, she didn’t rule it out. Samuel L. Jackson is being slammed for his happy birthday tweet to President Trump. Some felt his tweet had a homophobic message. He tweeted a photo of “After D**k Mints” with the caption, “Must have been a party at The White House, Mitch, Paul, Rudy & others were spotted wearing knee pads & carrying these lined up outside. Happy Birthday.” The Twitterverse has been quick to react, but Jackson appears unfazed by the backlash after posting a note he received from Twitter regarding his post on Instagram. Gisele Bündchen has apologized for her interview with Vogue. She came under fire for her comments that suggested she was smarter than today’s models and thinks her comments were misunderstood. “I’m sorry that my words in my most recent Vogue article were misunderstood,” she writes. “My intention was simply to express that I come from an older generation and am not technologically savvy,” her statement said. “I admire the younger generation and their skill to manage all the added demand of social media. Tom Brady was Oprah Winfrey’s guest on “Super Soul Sunday.” He discussed the issue of players taking a knee. Unlike his friend, Donald Trump, he supports the practice. Brady went on to say that he and his teammates discussed the situation, and ultimately decided to lock arms. He said, “We support what people are going through. I’ve been playing sports long enough — everyone comes from something different. I think showing respect for everybody is — in a locker room with a team with guys trying to go in the same direction, you better have that empathy. Angelina Jolie took a trip with the UN to Mosul, Iraq. This coming one year after the city was freed of ISIS. She met with displaced families in the area. The UN plans on giving cash assistance so residents can rebuild their homes, legal representation for those detained for mistaken identity, and help retrieving legal docs that may have been lost during the takeover. It seems Mel B has a new man, but she’s not kissing and telling. The Spice Girl took to Instagram to share a selfie surrounded by hearts captioned, “The way he makes me laugh and smile gives me butterflies beyond belief. Everything about him makes me more than happy and grateful.” It’s not clear who “he” is, but it’s safe to say her love life is finally looking up since her tumultuous divorce from Stephen Belafonte.
Biggest Loser coach Jillian Michaels and her fiancée, Heidi Rhoades, broke up after almost ten years and two kids. She shared her news on The ‘Gram. “Heidi and I have been split for a while now,” the trainer said. “We’ve found we’re better friends and parents living apart than staying together. Life and people change, but our love for one another and commitment to raising our two kids as an inseparable team remains.” Jillian and Heidi got engaged in 2016 during an episode of “Just Jillian.” They have an eight-year-old daughter, Lukensia, and a six-year-old son, Phoenix.
Nick Cannon has agreed to officiate the Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson wedding. Cannon said, “They’re young people in love. It’s like The Notebook. I’m up for all weddings. I’ll officiate.” Nick added, “Pete called before he proposed. I was like, ‘Do it.’ I’ve been there — a fantasy relationship where you just go off and get married.” Nick and Mariah Carey separated six years into their marriage. It was great while it lasted. ABC may create the “Roseanne” spin-off based on Darlene. The spin-off is reportedly in negotiations. Part of the negotiations is that Roseanne Barr walks away entirely from the project. The bankruptcy case against Real Housewives stars Teresa & Joe Giudice has been dismissed as of Friday. Though this part of their struggles is over, the couple still owes plenty of money to the IRS and the New Jersey Department of Treasury. However, they’re on payment plans for both. Teresa had previously served an 11-month prison sentence and Joe is still serving his 41-month sentence, which he started March 2016.
After three years, Giuliana Rancic will return as the host of “E! News” alongside Jason Kennedy. The news comes six months after host Catt Sadler left the network over pay disparity. Giuliana says, “Returning to host E! News is every bit as thrilling to me today as it was 16 years ago when I joined the show and embarked on this wonderful career. Cohosting alongside one of my best friends, Jason Kennedy, with one of the most talented teams in entertainment journalism, makes this move even more special. I can’t wait to reconnect with the E! News audience and go on this journey together once again.” She rejoins the show as cohost September 4th.
Khloe Kardashian and her baby daughter are back home in L.A. The reality star hit Instagram on Sunday to share a picture of a balloon that read, “Welcome home Khloe and True.” Another balloon revealed that the balloons came from sister Kylie Jenner and her four-month-old daughter, Stormi. Cavs star Tristan Thompson was also in L.A. with his family to celebrate Father’s Day.
