Ben Dover & The Screamers

If you were on Put-In-Bay in the 80s or 90s, you probably experienced Ben Dover & The Screamers.  The island party band only gets together occasionally these days, but their most-recent gig was a bittersweet event in September 2016 (photo courtesy of Thomas Metzner Photography).

Lead singer Ben Parker of Norwalk was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease, and the benefit was to raise money for Ben and his family in this fight.

Doctors say the odds of getting this at such a young age are about 1:100,000, as there’s none of this is in Ben’s family. Ben hopes to be placed on a clinical trial in Cleveland for a drug that’s being used in Great Britain with very positive results.
